On September 18, Shakhtar defender Dodo signed a new long-term deal with the club

We are highlighting the milestones of the Brazilian's spell at Shakhtar.

Beginning of the way

Dodo began his professional career at Coritiba with which he won the Parana State Championship. The Brazilian signed a contract with Shakhtar back in December 2017, making his debut for the club in April 2018 - in the Ukrainian league game vs Veres (2-0). During the first season, Dodo made 2 full appearances for Shakhtar - in the Cup vs Mariupol and in the Premier League vs Dynamo.

Portuguese period

Dodo spent the 2018/19 season on loan at Vitoria Guimaraes, Portugal. There, under the leadership of Luis Castro, the right-back took part in 12 games (9 league ones, 2 Cup ones, 1 League Cup one) and scored 2 goals (vs Boavista and vs Belenenses). In the summer of 2019, he returned to Shakhtar.

Debut goals

On 18 October 2019, Dodo scored his debut goal for Shakhtar - in Kharkiv against Kolos. And in the next game, on October 22, the Brazilian netted an equalizer in the Champions League match vs Dinamo Zagreb. Interestingly, both goals were scored after cutting inside towards the left wing.

Decent season

In general, the 2019/20 season was Dodo's first one as a full-fledged club regular. He has made 23 Premier League appearances, one more in the Cup and five in both the Champions League and the Europa League. On average over 90 minutes, he made 51 passes with an accuracy of 87.6%, he also won 55% challenges, with 56% of his dribbles being successful.

Fastest in the team

One of Dodo's wing attributes is pace. In the Europa League Round of 16 return leg vs Wolfsburg, the Brazilian developed the speed of 33.8 km/h, updating this record in September’s test game against Olimpik by reaching the speed of 34,2 km/h according to the FC Shakhtar performance analysis team.
