Midfielder Taison leaves Shakhtar after an eight-year spell at the club
Taison is the only Brazilian who managed to make it among the top 20 players in Shakhtar history in terms of the number of appearances. In all competitions, he made 299 appearances for the Orange-and-Blacks and scored 55 goals. With the Miners he won the Ukrainian League title on six occasions and raised five domestic Cups and four Super Cups.
Taison debuted for the club at the age of 25. It happened in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash vs Borussia Dortmund (2-2) at the Donbass Arena on 13 February 2013. A couple of months later, he netted his first goal for Shakhtar vs Metalurh in Zaporizhia.
In 2016 and 2017, the midfielder was called up to the Brazil national team, making four appearances and scoring a goal. From the autumn 2017, Taison has been Shakhtar's captain for two years.
