Junior Moraes joined Shakhtar on the 8th of June 2018, quickly earning the status of the team's major goalscorer. The striker scored goals in every competition that he took part in. He netted 41 goals in the UPL, three goals in the Ukrainian Cup, one in the Super Cup, five in the Champions League and seven in the Europa League. In total, the birthday boy made 102 competitive appearances for Shakhtar and already boasts 57 goals, including his first goal for Ukraine just before the birthday.
Forward’s awards
Among Junior's personal awards, special pride of place belongs to the milestone 100th goal scored by the striker back on August 25, 2019. Plus, of course, the 2018/19 top scorer award after notching up 19 goals. With Shakhtar, Moraes won the Ukrainian league title twice and raised the domestic Cup once.
