The Miners have won the fourth match in a row and continue topping the league table

Compared to the match vs Oleksandriia, Shakhtar's starting lineup has undergone significant changes: six new players took the field. They include the goalkeeper Denys Tvardovskyi who has debuted for the U19 team.

End-to-end action

The visitors started actively and created a dangerous chance as early as the second minute. The direct corner-kick by Emere hit the crossbar. Shakhtar responded five minutes later. Bako found himself one on one with Kovalenko, sent the ball past the goalkeeper and was brought down by the latter, but the referee saw no rule violation in that episode. Bako remained the most active in Shakhtar’s attacks and in the 19th minute produced a dangerous shot following Honcharuk’s pass. The play moved from end to end, with the rivals continuing to exchange dangerous attacks. Shakhtar responded to Emere's attack with Bako's breakthrough - the defence was reliable in this case. In the 33rd minute, Kuchkov tried to earn a spot-kick, but the referee decided that the Kharkiv player had just faked it and showed him a yellow card. The teams left for the break without any goals scored.

Two goals in three minutes

In the second half, Shakhtar entered the game more actively and converted their advantage almost immediately. In the 50th minute, Veklenko cut inside and scored a brilliant top-corner goal against the visitors, making it 1-0. A couple of minutes later, Honcharuk burst into the penalty area where he was knocked down by Kovalenko. The referee awarded a spot-kick, Honcharuk stepped up to the spot and confidently bundled the ball inside the corner, making it 2-0. Metalist 1925 did not lose heart and charged forward to reduce the deficit. First, Kuchkov made an attempt at goal - Tvardovskyi coped with his shot. And then Emere sent in a dangerous free-kick cross that was stopped by the visitors. At the end of the meeting, the Kharkiv side could pull one back, but Farina cleared the ball literally off the goal line.

2-0 - Shakhtar won the fourth match and gained the maximum points. Oskar Ratulutra's team will play the next match away vs Chornomorets Odesa on August 20.
