League campaign start is successful Head coach of Shakhtar youth team Oskar Ratulutra commented on his charges’ victory over Metalist 1925 which is the fourth in a row
- The team won by scoring two goals in the second half. What can you say about the game?
- Just another tough match. In the first half, we occasionally had an advantage, but we didn’t always play the ball correctly, we didn’t move it and didn’t change the attacking direction. Although we had a number of scoring chances, we might lack some aggression.
- How did you manage to shake things up at half-time, as early in the second half Shakhtar looked completely different?
- I didn't say anything like that, I just analysed the play with the guys, getting some feedback from them. Together we managed to put the message across to the team, plus the guys understood themselves the fact that they needed to act differently.
- Tvardovskyi made his ddebut in the game, Kapinus and Buleza appeared after having no match practice, and Bako returned to the midfield instead of Svityukha who had left the team. How happy are you with the footballers’ interaction?
- Kapinus was injured and therefore missed the start of the league campaign. We have healthy competition, we’ve got Havryliuk who also performed well at this position. We are delighted that Svityukha has reached a new level, the UPL is a new challenge for him. That is why we are working - for our graduates to play at a higher level. There’s good competition in the team, we are trying to rotate them since the guys must develop not only through training, but also through match practice.
- Four wins in the starting four matches with one goal conceded from the spot – is your league campaign start successful?
- The season is very long, plus we’ll have the UEFA Youth League. Yes, the start is successful, but we mustn’t look back, but go forward with the understanding that the season is tough and it won’t be easy for us.
