Midfielder Marlos finishes his tenure at Shakhtar
At the end of this calendar year, the player's contract with the club expires.

Marlos joined Shakhtar in the summer of 2014 and quickly became one of the key players in the team. In the first season he made 35 appearances, and in the following three seasons he played in more than 40 matches. Over eight seasons, Marlos has amassed 287 appearances. Based on this figure, he joined the top 25 players in the club history.
Performance and crucial goals
Marlos's debut at Shakhtar happened in the Super Cup tie vs Dynamo, with the player scoring his first goal for the team and making it 2-0. The right winger scored many beautiful and important goals: in the Champions League qualification vs Rapid and AS Monaco, in the Europa League semi-finals vs Sevilla, a double vs Feyenoord in the Champions League group stage. He also put his name on the scoresheet on seven occasions in the major games vs Dynamo.
In total, Marlos notched up 74 goals for Shakhtar in all competitions. He is leaving the club as having the 11th position on the top scorers list in the entire history. Only Adriano, Vorobei, Starukhin, Sokolovskyi, Brandao, Teixeira, Petrov, Atelkin, Grachev and Matveev had more goals.
12 trophies and Ukraine national team
Together with Shakhtar, Marlos won on four occasions the league title (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020), the Cup (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019) and the Super Cup (2014, 2015, 2017, 2021) of Ukraine. Being one of the brightest and most prolific midfielders in the country, he received Ukrainian citizenship, played for the national team of Ukraine and appeared in the 2020 UEFA Euro finals.
