Shakhtar's best goal in 2021 depends on the fans’ choice
The pre-New Year project Goal Battle entered the home straight and reached the semi-finals. Shakhtar and its title partner Parimatch invite fans to pick the team's best goal in 2021.
The top four goals were determined through an opinion poll on the Miners’ official Instagram page. So, the following pairs have reached the semis:
• Manor Solomon vs Alan Patrick
A spectacular piece in the match against Desna that was finished off by Manor Solomon, has passed two rounds. But his opponent is last year's Goal Battle winner Alan Patrick clearly aiming to repeat his success. A swift slaloming run in the Super Cup tie against Dynamo and the subsequent precision goal have rocketed the Brazilian to the semi-finals.
• Danyil Honcharuk vs Pedrinho
Shakhtar U19 forward Danyil Honcharuk beat two Sheriff defenders in their own box and left the keeper with no chance in the UEFA Youth League. Now he is going to face Pedrinho, the tournament’s first-timer. An important and beautiful goal by the Brazilian against AS Monaco in the UCL play-offs gives the scorer a good chance of winning.
