Shakhtar U19 thrashed Lviv U19 in the Ukrainian Youth League round 17
Goal by Kristian Bako
From the opening minutes, Shakhtar took control of the ball, without posing any danger though. The Miners played fluidly during their build-up play, while the visitors focussed on counterplay. In the 19th minute, Danyil Honcharuk had a chance. The forward received a pass in the penalty area, beat his opponent, but failed to hit the target. The Orange-and-Blacks continued storming the opposing goal, and in the 25th minute their advantage turned into a goal. The Lviv defender lost the ball under the pressure of active Honcharuk. Danyil, while bursting into the penalty area, was targeting the far corner only to hit the goalkeeper, with Kristian Bako being the first on the ball to slot it home. Another super chance was missed by Danyil Honcharuk in the 37th minute while trying to lob the ball over the goalkeeper, but the Lviv defender managed to clear it for a corner. The Lviv outfit came up with the first dangerous chance late in the first half. Maksym Mudryi decided to shoot from a 35-metre range, but Tymur Puzankov eliminated the threat by leaping towards it.
Productive ending
After the break, the pattern of play has not changed. Anton Hluschenko had a good opportunity to extend the lead, but his effort from outside the penalty area went high. Shortly after that, Danyil Honcharuk found himself within a shooting range only to see the ball hit the goalkeeper’s leg. In the 66th minute, the hosts’ all-out attack ended in Dmytro Kapinus’s powerful shot, with the goalkeeper of Lviv coming to his side’s rescue. Shakhtar managed to score the second one in the 83rd minute. Honcharuk, after finding himself down the wing, sent the ball into the path of the unmarked Nazarii Havryliuk who coolly sent the ball into the back of the unguarded net. We want to note that this goal is the defender's debut one for Shakhtar. In stoppage time, Oskar Ratulutra's charges scored twice more: Vladyslav Pohorilyi took advantage of Hluschenko's clinical pass, and literally in the next attack Anton Hluschenko sealed the win.
Shakhtar U19 will play their final home match in 2021 on Tuesday December 7. The Miners will face Moldova’s Sheriff in the UEFA Youth League round six.
