On Friday, February 5, the Miners will have their final friendly at the training camp in Turkey. The opponents represent a Bosnian club Borac. The match will be aired live on Shakhtar TV at 10:00
Effective attacking
Borac was founded in 1926 and represents the town of Banja Luka. In 2011, the Red-Blues won the league of Bosnia and Herzegovina - their most resounding success. Also, the club once raised the domestic Cup (2010). The team won bronze medals in the Championship three times (2010, 2012, 2013). They sit in the 375th spot in the UEFA coefficients rankings.
Last season, the Bosnians finished fourth, and this season they are in the 5th position. In 19 games they had 10 wins, two draws and seven defeats. Borac boast the second most effective attacking in the league, the goal difference is 36-24. Only the league leaders FK Sarajevo scored more - 40 goals.
First meeting
The club colours are defended by eight internationals. Winger Almedin Zilkic played for the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The top scorers in the current season are the winger Goran Zakaric and the forward Jovo Lukic (eight goals each). The best assist providers are Goran Zakaric and Almedin Zilkic (six accurate passes each).
The team is coached by a young 36-year-old local specialist Marko Maksimovic who took charge of the Red-Blues in December 2020 after coaching the U19 team.
Shakhtar and Borac have never met in competitive matches.
