In an interview with Shakhtar TV, Shakhtar defender Viktor Korniienko shared his impressions of the season start and spoke about the preparation for the upcoming UPL MD2 game vs Lviv
- Viktor, what’s your emotional experience after the season start?
- It was important to start with a victory, that’s crucial. The emotional experience is great: we really missed the game, plus the fans finally came to the stadium. We won, everything’s fine.
- In the match against Inhulets, Shakhtar broke their own record for the number of passes completed. How satisfied are you with the quality of the play and your fitness?
- After the match I talked to the guys from Inhulets and they admitted that they were slightly shocked by our play. We will try to perform such actions in each clash, control and quickly move the ball, and most importantly, win.
- What did the coaches say after the starting game? Are they happy?
- Absolutely because we won. Again, it was important for us to get off to a good start. But there were also some mistakes that we will correct.
- As soon as this Friday, Shakhtar will have an away game against Lviv. How is the preparation for this game going, how do you set up for it?
- We’ve got serious preparation and maximum focus. We will approach each match in this way in order to win.
