The new skills coach Paolo Bianco spoke on Shakhtar News about working with Roberto De Zerbi
- Paolo, you are the skills coach, what are your responsibilities?
- I perform not only technical tasks, but also work as an assistant together with Davide Possanzini and Michele Cavalli. We try to do everything that De Zerbi asks us to do. In short, we are here to help Mister.
- As a footballer, you played defensively. Do you work more with defenders now?
- Absolutely, I look more closely at the defensive phase. I watch every defender’s individual performance. I want to repeat that we do everything Mister asks us to, and we do that all the time.
- How did you team up with Roberto De Zerbi, have you known each other for a long while?
- 15 years ago, we played together for Catania in Serie B, we made up a good pairing there. After finishing my player career, I started coaching, and two years ago Roberto invited me to join his coaching staff. I agreed with pleasure. I consider De Zerbi one of the best coaches in Italy.
- What was your reaction to Shakhtar's offer and to the relocation to Ukraine?
- Roberto definitely had the goal to coach abroad. That’s the right choice because Shakhtar is a legendary European club that has always played at the top level.
- What could you say to Shakhtar fans?
- We can promise that we will, just as always, work hard every day, 24 hours a day.
