I’m satisfied with the training camp

- I suppose we had a good match, but at the same time we definitely need to improve our level. In general, I’m satisfied with the training camp, the guys trained really hard. Already this Saturday we are returning home where we will continue training and preparing for the season.

- Did you manage to implement at the training camp everything you had planned?

- Everything went even better than I’d expected. Internationals have already rejoined the team, and the roster is complete now. There are three days off ahead, after which we will continue training. Now we know each other which should make it easier for everyone.

- Mykhailo Mudryk on the first day of the training camp and today: how has his interaction with the players changed, what’s his potential?

- I really believe in Mudryk. However, he must understand that I give him opportunities that he must offset by his great performance and become the man with a capital M.

- Mykola Matviienko in your playing model - is he a left-back or still a centre-back?

- I’m very glad that I can coach many talented players I have met at Shakhtar.

- Ismaily took part in the match vs Schalke 04 after his long recovery from an injury. What do you make of his availability?

- I really rely on him because he is a key player. When Ismaily feels good, this is a huge plus for us.

- In the absence of the injured Moraes, Traore seems to become the first-choice striker judging by the friendlies, with Dentinho being the second one. And what attacking functions do Fernando and Sikan perform?

- I’m really sorry that this happened to Moraes, I hope he will recover as soon as possible. We currently have four footballers as number 9 players, with Traore being the key one. The other three must find their way to get some match time as well.

- Is Marlon a systemic player for you, considering that he launches attacks, speaks the same language with you and prompts other Brazilians?

- Indeed, Marlon is key, but other players are also key in my team. Shakhtar starts with the most experienced Pyatov and ends with the youngest Sudakov.

- What can you say about Mark Mampassi? What’s his prospect of staying in the first team?

- During these 20 days, Mampassi has significantly improved his level, at the same time we are looking forward to the return of Sergii Kryvtsov and then we will make a decision whether Mark will stay in the team or we will look for other options for him. But this option will be optimal for the player.

- In the summer, Shakhtar acquired three players, with all of them being foreigners. There is a limit in the Ukrainian league: there must be at least four Ukrainians on the roster. Have you decided on the roles for the local players to have?
