Shakhtar youth team held their first training session
On June 17, Shakhtar U19 team headed by Oskar Ratulutra had their first full-fledged training session after a month's vacation. After such a long break, the guys enthusiastically got back to work as every Miner was missing their teammates and the training process. At the same time, the coach pointed out that each footballer had worked individually while on vacation. Yesterday, the players split into two groups underwent a medical examination and a gas analyser check.
Oskar Ratulutra had 17 players at his disposal. Before the pitch session, the Orange-and-Blacks worked out in the gym and did some jogging. Then the coaching staff suggested some technique exercises and set play practice: with the advantage of attacking players three vs one, three vs two and with equal numbers.

Oskar Ratulutra, Shakhtar U19 head coach:
"Today we’ve worked more on optimizing the guys’ condition. The objective is to bring everyone to the same level because there’s a certain imbalance present. Team defender Nazarii Havryliuk spoke about the workload and pointed out the effectiveness of their homework during the holidays:
"I can feel that the intensity this year is different, so we need to readjust ourselves. Well, we actually worked individually during the holidays, thanks to which it’s much easier to enter the season now."
Let us remind you that the Ukrainian U21 league has been cancelled, therefore Oskar Ratulutra and his coaching staff face a tough task of staffing the team. Besides, last season’s regulars Andrii Buleza, Ivan Losenko, Kyrylo Siheev, Oleksandr Rosputko and Oleksandr Yushchenko are at the disposal of Shakhtar U17, continuing to compete for gold medals in the DUFL Elite League.
"For a while, the guys who were born mainly in 2002 and 2003 have been training with us, there are also players born in 2001. Also, the DUFL Championship in which our U17 team play, is not over yet. In total, we’ll have a group of about 40 people, of which we have to keep 23 outfield players and three goalkeepers. We will check the guys’ form and make a decision just before the competitive games," said Oskar Ratulutra.
