Shakhtar U17 won gold medals in the DUFL Elite League

Road to the final

The team led by Oleksandr Sytnyk confidently competed throughout the season. The team advanced from the first group in third spot, with the Orange-and-Blacks finishing second in the second group stage (53-13) which made it possible to continue the fight and play the knockout phase games.

In head-to-head games, Shakhtar confidently defeated the Kyiv Sports School 26 (2-0 and 3-0). Then, in the semi-finals, the Miners defeated KZ Karpaty-Rukh from Lviv in a penalty shootout (1-1; 8-7).

Winning the final derby

In the season final, Shakhtar faced Dynamo at the Bannikov UTK in Kyiv. The meeting was not easy because most of the time Sytnyk's charges were forced to recoup. But in the 78th minute, the Miners showed character, with one of the team's attacks resulting in a goal - the goal was netted by Oleh Pushkaryov - 1-1. Once again it came to a penalty shootout, and again the Orange-and-Blacks won it. Accurate shots by Oleh Chuiko, yevhen Leschynskyi and Anton Hluschenko, as well as three penalties saved by Denys Barchenko, brought Shakhtar the title glory.

Personal prizes

During the awards ceremony, personal prizes were given to Denys Barchenko and Anton Hluschenko. Barchenko's confident play in goal was not left unnoticed by the experts, and Denys was recognized as the competition’s best goalkeeper. Anton Hluschenko became the best player of the DUFL Elite League season.
