Shakhtar goalkeeping coach Giorgio Bianchi gave an interview to Shakhtar News and spoke about his first month at the Ukrainian club

- Giorgio, tell us a bit about yourself: where are you from, how long have you been working in football?

- I played for Cremonese - this is a club in Lombardy, later I started coaching the U21 team of Brescia, then I worked at Milan and Sussuolo, and now I’m at Shakhtar.

- How long have you known Roberto De Zerbi and what’s your relationship like?

- I know him for a year now because a year ago we started working together. Our relationship is excellent.

- How do you like working with Roberto, how demanding is he?

- I discuss the plans, my work with Roberto De Zerbi, although many things are up to him to decide. We have a common goal, and I don’t feel like I’m responsible for only one goalkeeper out of eleven players. The team includes all eleven footballers.

- How would you rate the level of Shakhtar goalkeepers who are currently involved in this training camp in Austria?

- Trubin and Pyatov are at the national team camp, although we saw their performance and level on videos. I’m happy with those who are currently with us in Austria as every day I see them progress.

- What is your top priority at this stage: to teach the goalkeepers to play using their feet, to make them practise moving off the line more or anything else?

- It’s difficult to explain, but I believe that it’s important to take the right position in the goalmouth at the moment of shooting.

- Many footballers say that the Italian school is very different from what they did before. What’s special about your method?

- I don’t know the Ukrainian school very well, but the Italian school has been appreciated by the whole world, so we continue doing the same job and believe in what we are doing.

- With what goals and objectives did you come to Ukraine and what do you want to achieve during your first season at Shakhtar?

- It's obvious: winning and playing well at the same time.
