Shakhtar U19 head coach Oskar Ratulutra commented on his players’ crushing victory over Minaj U19
- The first half was just a rush. We tried to operate aggressively, to put pressure on the opponents in their own half of the field and play offensively which happened just occasionally. We managed to create several chances in front of the opposing goal. In one of the attacks, an opponent brought down Honcharuk in their penalty area, and Anton Hluschenko confidently converted the spot-kick. Then the game saw some great interaction between Honcharuk and Farina, but we got somewhat complacent at 0-2, plus it got hot and we gave one away. In the dressing room, we focussed on possession, control, which resulted in goals. Some fresh guys appeared and proved themselves. Now the main thing is to switch to the game against Inhulets. In mental terms, the guys need to approach the final clash in a very responsible way.
- Is seven goals against Minaj a sign of the side's perfect teamwork?
- The guys realize that the season is nearly over, they understand what we want from them.
- The subs Ivan Losenko and Artur Mykytyshyn were involved in scoring four goals for Shakhtar. Was their appearance a turning point?
- Today everyone did well, I wouldn’t like to single out anyone. Artur Mykytyshyn grabbed a hat-trick, and this is worthy of attention, but I want to emphasize that it was the entire team who organized the attacks and participated in the process.
- The final match against Inhulets will take place on May 9. Have the guys got enough time to recover or should we expect total rotation in the last round?
- We will recover as usual. The medical department will dedicate the whole day to the guys’ preparation, then we’ll have a training session. We must forget this match right now. The game against Inhulets will be decisive.
