Shakhtar swapped their bus for a vintage one

On May 9, Shakhtar will have the final match of the 2020/21 season vs Inhulets
The team arrived at the NSC Olimpiyskiy on a vintage bus LAZ 697M Tourist manufactured back in 1973. This trip has been timed to coincide with the 85th foundation anniversary marked by the club this year.
Shakhtar used the same kind of transport in the 1970s. The bus is in perfect condition and has been specially equipped for the football team, with its body being painted to feature the retro style of that time.
The trip on a retro bus from the Opera Hotel to the OSC Olimpiyskiy evoked lively emotions in the Shakhtar players and coaches.
“The bus idea is just great! We’ve kind of returned to the romantic past,” said the team defender Serhii Kryvtsov. "Shakhtar honour their past and love to surprise fans with some unusual stories, especially on the dates similar to the club’s 85th foundation anniversary."
We want to mention that Shakhtar played their first official match back on May 24, 1936. This very date is considered to be the club birthday date. This milestone year, Shakhtar have prepared a number of other surprises for the fans, in particular a retro kit, a cartoon and the seventh episode of the Donetsk and Its Team film which will be presented soon.
