- Congratulations on your first victory this UEFA Youth League season! Despite the scoreline of 5-0, it seemed that the victory was not that easy?
- Thanks a lot for your congrats. Yes, the match wasn’t easy. The first half was quite difficult for us: we somewhat lost our game, but occasionally we found it, and thanks to one of the attacks we managed to score. In the second half, we changed the formation and acted as usual, in our own style, scored a few more goals and secured a positive result.
- After the second goal, the guys relaxed, believed in themselves, and then the match developed in a completely different way?
- Yes, I agree with you. At half-time, we told the guys: it’s clear that this is the first game, the debut one, we are all worried and excited, but one half is over now, you have adapted to it, and in the second one it should be much easier if we operate in our own style.
- The defensive third played flawlessly today: they didn’t allow the opponents to create anything at all.
- Yes, but the whole team are involved in this process, starting with the attacking players. The attacking pack did a great job, both offensively and defensively. Credit for this goes to the whole team.
- How important is it mentally to start the competition with an away win?
- Definitely it’s really important and very pleasant, just gratifying for all our guys. This will give them more confidence in the future.
- It’s a fantastic start to the season, your eighth win in a row. What would you say?
- Well, what can I say? We still have to play a lot! We are grateful to the guys for this part, but, again, we’ve got a really tight schedule and need to prepare for the next league match without looking back.
