Rinat Akhmetov celebrates his birthday on September 21. The Shakhtar president has turned 55 years old
Almost 25 years ago, Rinat Akhmetov became the president of FC Shakhtar. All this time, the club has been setting the most ambitious goals and achieving success.
Presently, Shakhtar are 13-time champions and 13-time Ukrainian Cup winners. The team raised the Ukrainian Super Cup on eight occasions, and in 2009 they won an international trophy – the UEFA Cup. Besides, Shakhtar are regular participants in the Champions League group stage.
These achievements would have been impossible without the contribution of Rinat Akhmetov, his passion for football and the home club, his ambitions, the belief in great results, the desire to move forward and delight fans with modern, spectacular and attacking play.
