The Portuguese club responded to FC Shakhtar's message and forwarded the humanitarian cargo to Ukraine
Benfica Lisbon is one of the many European clubs that have decided to help Ukrainians affected by the hostilities. Essential goods, including medicines, personal hygiene items, food, water and drinks have been collected in Portugal and delivered to Ukraine. By agreement with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the humanitarian cargo was delivered to the Mykolaiv, Sumy, Donetsk, and Chernihiv Oblasts.
FC Shakhtar expresses its sincere gratitude to Benfica and its president Rui Costa for the humanitarian assistance and support of the Ukrainian people, which means a lot in this difficult time for our country.
It should be noted that about UAH 1.4 billion has already been donated by SCM businesses, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and the Shakhtar football club to help Ukraine and Ukrainians just during the first 40 days of the war.
