Shakhtar midfielder Taras Stepanenko commented on the news about his training with Dynamo Kyiv
- Taras, in recent days, they have discussed a lot the information about you training with Dynamo Kyiv. What can you say about it?
- The thing is that I train in Romania with the local club Voluntari. At my request, Mircea Lucescu agreed it with Florin Cernat who is currently the sporting director of this club, I also received the permission from the president and the head coach so that I can train with them. I am really thankful for this to all of them. They received me well here, they are helping and supporting me in every possible way. Voluntari played an important match on Saturday, they won 1-0, now they sit in the fourth spot in the table, so the coach has given the team a day off on this occasion. Since I started training recently, I need to get back in shape because Shakhtar will go to Turkey shortly and play charity matches there. And when Voluntari players were given a day off, I turned to Mircea Lucescu with a request to train with Dynamo because I didn’t want to be out for three days. Lucescu allowed me to do that, so I’m exercising with Dynamo until Voluntari resume training.
I can only say thank you for the fact that we, Ukrainians, support each other here. I am sure that if there had been a situation when one of the Dynamo players needed to keep fit, then Shakhtar would’ve provided the guys with all the conditions and helped them in the same way. This is the solidarity of the Ukrainian people, and I believe this is a fully normal situation.
