On Monday, the Miners will play final matches at the training camp in Slovenia

Shakhtar preparation for the new season enters the final stage. On August 15, Igor Jovicevic’s charges will play two charity matches vs Al-Fateh (Saudi Arabia).

Shakhtar will play with in two different lineups at 12:00 and 19:00 Kyiv time. Matches will be available live on the club’s YouTube channel and Xsport channel.

Al-Fateh representing Al-Hasa region was formed at 1958. The club won the only champion title in 2013 (by taking the country Cup), but the “desert children” were 8th in the 2021/22 season in the Saudi Professional League. The team is managed by the Greek professional Georgios Donis, who trained Maccabi Tel Aviv and Panathinaikos, since January 2022. Besides the local performers, the following international players are in Al-Fateh: Swedish goalkeeper Jacob Rinne, Spanish player Fran Velez, Brazilian player Petros, Peru national team players Christian Cueva and Alex Valera. A bright trace in the club history was made by Ukrainian goalkeeper Maksym Koval, who has played 110 matches for Al-Fateh since 2018.

The season for The Saudis starts at the end of August, but currently they were managed to play only one friendly match defeating the Slovenian Tabor (2-1). These games will be the final ones in the summer pre-season.

We want to remind that the matches will be played as a part of the Shakhtar Global Tour for Peace. Proceeds from the sale of tickets and advertising will be used to purchase everything necessary for the defenders of Ukraine, Ukrainian citizens and children affected by the war. A total of UAH 13.2 million has been raised through the 5 charity matches played in the spring.

We want to remind that from February 24 to August 1, SCM businesses, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and FC Shakhtar have granted UAH 3 billion or about USD 100 million to help Ukraine and Ukrainians, with the amount increasing daily. Humanitarian aid has already reached over 11 million people throughout the country.
