Shakhtar women's team conducts the training camp in Shchaslyve

Footballers are getting into shape and prepare for the new season
Shakhtar women's team continues preparation for the championship. Roman Zaiev’s team has been conducting the training camp at the club’s Academy base in Shchaslyve (Kyiv Oblast) since the beginning of August. The Orange-and-Blacks have maximum intensive programme: training on the pitch is in the morning and evening and exercises in the fitness center are between the sessions.
The main task at this stage is to get physically fit after a long performing and training pause, as well as to establish playing connections after huge staff renewal of the team.
Viktoriia Holovach, FC Shakhtar women’s team midfielder:
– Very difficult five months both morally and emotionally. I did not play anywhere, I was at home. Literally two weeks before the war, I finished my recovery after the injury; I did not aggravate my condition and worked according to special programme. I missed training with the team very much, so now I have only positive emotions. Beginning of the training camp is a breath of fresh air in a view of the situation in the country. I was so glad to see everyone: friends, coaches, and staff. Unbelievable emotions when you have the opportunity to work in your country. It is, probably, much more valuable now. There are many new girls in the team. We got acquainted with each other, although we have met on the pitch. We communicate, study each other. As for the upcoming championship, it is difficult to say what to expect. We believe that war will end, that all Ukrainian footballers will return, that the international players will come to us, and then the Ukrainian football will become stronger. So we have to work, prepare and come to the top level.
We want to remind that Shakhtar women's team played in the Ukrainian first league and had a strong lead in the group during last season winning all 10 matches of the autumn stage with the overall scoring of 89-0. Roman Zaiev’s team will play in the Premier League.
