Shakhtar midfielder Alan Patrick whose goal was recognized as the best in 2021, has received a corresponding prize at the training camp in Turkey, shared his emotions and spoke about the team's training goals
- It’s a beautiful trophy! I am very happy that I have managed to win it for the second year in a row. I want to thank absolutely everyone who supported me and voted for me. It’s really cool that my goal is one of the most beautiful ones in 2021.
- Indeed, not being a striker or a finisher, you became the scorer of the best goal for two successive years. What does this mean to you?
- Yes, I'm not the player having a permanent scoring role, but the fact that for the second year in a row I’ve managed to net an important goal is really pleasant and makes me happy. I will work on to score more goals and help Shakhtar claim victories and win titles all the time as this is the most important thing.
- Could you recall the whole goal-scoring attack?
- It was a decision to be made during the game. I saw some space, received the ball from Maycon, managed to dribble it past the opponents, and I was very lucky with the shot. As a result we scored a goal, claimed a victory and secured the title. The whole team and I were happy about it. Another trophy that we delivered together.
- The first week of training camp is nearly over. How hard are these days for you?
- It’s a very important point in the season, when I get prepared physically again and work a lot on the tactical component. Footballers recall what needs to be done, improve and step it up in some ways. When the second part of the league campaign kicks off and we pick up the match pace, we will feel good both physically, technically and tactically.
- On what do you focus more at this stage of preparation?
- I think everyone should have a winning mentality. Friendly matches will start soon. Every training day, we try to develop our style of play, I want to repeat that we want to improve both technically and tactically. We are focusing on the second part of the season, which is ahead, and we are working to achieve our goals of winning the title and all the competitions in which we participate.
