Shakhtar newcomer Vinicius Tobias answered fans' questions during a live stream on the club's Instagram, talking about his adaptation, the first friendly, his player number and football goals
- How was your adaption, how did the team receive you?
- Very well! I try to adapt faster to be on the same level with the team.
- What did you know about Shakhtar before joining the club?
- To be honest, not much, because I didn't follow the team before, I started following Shakhtar after having received the offer, learning the club history and watching the games.
- Did you know any of the Shakhtar players whose performance you had followed previously?
- I really liked Douglas Costa and Taison – the guys who played for Shakhtar before. Before moving to the club, I talked with Fernando and Dodo, asked them about the team while deciding whether to go or not to go, but they said just good things.
- Who have you already made friends with?
- All the guys here are my best friends, it's nice that they received me well here. In general, I’ve been sharing a room with Tete on this training camp, so he’s a big friend of mine and I talk with him more so far.
- Why did you decide to pick the number 27?
- I wanted 26 because it’s the number of my wife's birthday, but it wasn’t available, so I took 27 which is also a beautiful figure.
- Is it true that you started your career as a forward, then played in midfield and only then turned into a defender? What role is the comfiest for you?
- Indeed, I played as a winger and striker, but I feel most comfortable as a full-back.
- You managed to take part in one Shakhtar friendly which the club managed to win. The fans liked your performance, they named you Man of the Match after your assist to Sudakov. How important is it to prove yourself to the maximum in the very first friendly on the new team?
- We’ve claimed a win – that’s the main goal. I managed to prove myself in the first match, wearing a Shakhtar shirt. This may well benefit me in the future when, already in the league games, I’ll be able to take the field and help the team win by my effective action.
- What are your goals for 2022?
- First of all, I should win titles, considering that I play for Shakhtar.
