Shakhtar TV stops broadcasting

In connection with the entry into force of the Law of Ukraine on the Prevention of Threats to National Security Related to the Excessive Influence of Persons who have Significant Economic or Political Weight in Public Life (Oligarchs) and the incompatibility of the development of private investment with the consequences of this Law, FC Shakhtar has addressed The National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting with a request to cancel the broadcasting licence of the Shakhtar TV channel.

This is a forced step, the details of which are set out in the statement by FC Shakhtar president Rinat Akhmetov on 11 July 2022.

The broadcasting frequency licence will be returned to the state.
