Shakhtar legend Darijo Srna has joined the charity project

In Amsterdam (the Netherlands) on Friday July 15, the RAZEM DAMY RADĘ – DO IT TOGETHER charitable foundation involved in the Saving Lives humanitarian project and FC Shakhtar Director of Football Darijo Srna signed a Memorandum on Cooperation. The foundation established by Metinvest and DTEK in coordination with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, is engaged in providing humanitarian assistance to people affected by the war that Russia unleashed in the territory of Ukraine.

Darijo Srna will become the project's ambassador and also be a member of its Board of Trustees. Thanks to this, they plan to involve the global football community in helping the Ukrainians residing in the frontline regions.

Darijo Srna, FC Shakhtar Director of Football:

“The world is experiencing a global shock. No one could imagine that such a brutal war might happen in the 21st century. In 2014, my life split into before and after with the outbreak of the war in the Donbas, while on 24 February 2022, a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine took place. I perceive everything that happened back then and is happening now in Ukraine in a very painful way. This is why I became an ambassador and a member of the trustees board of the Do It Together foundation. Presently, each of us sees the fragility of this world. Only by joint efforts can we save children, women, and the elderly from starvation. I call upon all my friends and partners to join in the operation of the Do It Together foundation and make their contributions.”

From the first days of the full-scale war, the Do It Together foundation of the Saving Lives humanitarian project set themselves the mission of preventing starvation among peaceful Ukrainians, providing them with medicines and essentials. More than 90 companies from all over the world have already joined the activities of the Do It Together.

We want to point out that from February 24 to July 1, SCM businesses, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and FC Shakhtar have granted more than UAH 2.7 billion or about USD 90 million to help Ukraine and Ukrainians, with the amount increasing daily. Humanitarian aid has already reached over three million people.
