Shakhtar bought medicines using the charity match proceeds

FC Shakhtar has purchased 1,500 first aid kits that were custom-made abroad. Shortly, first aid kits will be sent to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

The funds for the purchasing these first aid kits (UAH 3.2 million) were raised during a charity match vs Olympiakos, Greece as part of the Shakhtar Global Tour for Peace that had been held with the support of the club's partner SkyUp Airlines and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. In total, the five friendly matches within the tour that were played by the team in different European countries (Turkey, Croatia, Greece and Poland) yielded UAH 13.2 million. In total, charitable projects of FC Shakhtar and the club's partners during this period amassed UAH 25.6 million to help Ukraine.

Everything necessary for the defenders of Ukraine, Ukrainian citizens and children affected by the war is purchased using the funds raised.
Current priority of the football club Shakhtar is to help Ukraine and Ukrainians
Sergei Palkin, FC Shakhtar CEO:

“Current priority of the football club Shakhtar is to help Ukraine and Ukrainians. We pursued two goals through the series of Shakhtar Global Tour for Peace charity matches: informative - to tell the whole world the truth about the war that Russia unleashed in the territory of our country, and financial - to raise money in order to help civilians and children, to support the Ukrainian army. As we promised, the proceeds from the match against Olympiacos were used to purchase 1,500 first aid kits. The military say it's an indispensable thing at the frontline, and we sincerely hope that it will help save many lives. Shakhtar, just like other businesses of Rinat Akhmetov, jointly with the club president's charitable foundation, has been helping people since the first days of the war and will continue helping. Together we bring Ukraine’s victory closer!”

Oleksandr Alba, co-founder of SkyUp Airlines and Join UP!:

“At SkyUp Airlines, we are always proud that we are a Ukrainian company. And, of course, it’s important for us to be useful to the country in difficult times. Even when we cannot fully work due to the sky being closed for flights, we find ways to help: we carried out evacuations, delivered humanitarian supplies, initiated fundraising projects. Back in the spring, we decided to hold a series of charity matches with our friends and partners from FC Shakhtar, and I am delighted that this project was fulfilled and helped raise money for the victory.”

Let us remind you that since February 24, SCM businesses, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and the Shakhtar football club have granted more than UAH 2.4 billion or about USD 80 million to help Ukraine and Ukrainians, with the amount increasing daily. Humanitarian aid has already reached three million people.
