Centre for IDPs at the Arena Lviv helps people from all regions of Ukraine

Shakhtar's Shelter Center at the Arena Lviv was opened on April 9 this year. Over two and a half months it has already received 1,100 IDPs from different regions of the country: Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Mykolayiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Chernihiv and Kyiv.

More than 200 people stay there permanently, mostly women and children. The oldest guest at the centre is 86 years old, the youngest one is just four days old. Volunteer staff of FC Shakhtar help the displaced people, doing everything necessary for the latter’s comfort and safety.

Shakhtar’s Shelter Centre offers various activities to its visitors. They already held 46 events, including sightseeing tours, concerts, hippotherapy classes, sports competitions. The focus is the leisure of children, for whom they organise regular football training sessions as part of the Come On, Let's Play! project and group art therapy sessions involving experienced psychologists, as well as master classes and cartoon screenings.

Let us remind you that since February 24, SCM businesses, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and the Shakhtar football club have granted more than UAH 2.4 billion or about USD 80 million to help Ukraine and Ukrainians, with the amount increasing daily. Humanitarian aid has already reached three million people.
