Shakhtar will help Arena Lviv to receive displaced people

Arena Lviv and FC Shakhtar are busy organizing a centre for IDPs
The internally displaced persons from different regions of Ukraine who have been forced to go to the west of the country due to hostilities, will be temporarily accommodated on the territory of the stadium.
Yesterday, Shakhtar staff joined in organizing the operation of the IDP assistance centre at the Arena Lviv. They carried out a number of installation works at the new location of the coordination centre and developed a shift action plan for the coming days. After March 11, the club employees will also start registering the internally displaced persons.
“From 2014 to 2016, Shakhtar played its home matches at the Arena Lviv, so our specialists know everything about the stadium and its infrastructural capacity. We are returning to the Arena Lviv to contribute to the common cause and to help people. Presently, we have many new objectives and challenges – we will do our best to get involved in the work and provide maximum assistance,” stresses Vadym Gunko, FC Shakhtar Operations Department Director.
We want to note that jointly with DTEK, Shakhtar has already begun the process of purchasing the necessary materials for the full functioning of the centre: mattresses, blankets, pillows, personal hygiene products and other things. The club also collaborates with the Lviv Regional State Administration to coordinate the actions and develop joint plans for organizing the centre.
