In an exclusive interview, UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin commented on the idea of Shakhtar's Shakhtar Global Tour for Peace and shared his take on the events in Ukraine
- This is a great gesture which clearly shows that we still are human and that we care about each other. We all hope that this madness of war will finish soon.
- Today they presented you with a club shirt bearing the name of the city of Mariupol. The current situation there is tough, what can you say about this?
- As I said before, this war is crazy, and we all hope and pray that it finishes soon because whoever dies because of this is a disaster.
- What are the strengths of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, according to you?
- You show unity now, and I am especially thankful that it happens through football because football is school of life, football is what unifies us, and football will bring us together after this war.
