Shakhtar’s legendary captain and Director of Football Darijo Srna marks his milestone birthday
Darijo has made an impressive way with Shakhtar. As a player, he appeared for the club from 2003 to 2018, was the team leader and its permanent captain. Over 15 years, he won 25 trophies with the club, including the UEFA Cup (2009) and nine Ukrainian league titles. Srna boasts another record – he made 536 appearances in the orange-black shirt which is the biggest number in the club history!
In 2019, Darijo Srna returned to Shakhtar: initially acting as an assistant head coach, and currently holding the Director of Football post.
