Shakhtar met with Kyiv-based Ateks in the Ukrainian Women’s Championship round 8
The Orange-and-Blacks (5th spot, 12 points) continued to adapt to the Vyshcha League level. The league underdogs, who haven’t earned any points in 7 matches, became our another opponents. Roman Zaiev made two changes in the line-up comparing with the previous game: Inha Mostova took the goalkeeper position and Nadiia Veherych took the field centre.
Powerful start with Holovach’s hat-trick
Shakhtar footballers decided not to delay with the goals and practically determined the matchup result during the first 30 minutes. The opener was scored in the 9th minute: Viktoriia Holovach won the challenge against the defender, beat the keeper and rolled the ball into the unguarded net (0-1). Shortly after, Mariia Vykaliuk found herself one-on-one with the goalkeeper after combination by the team and made an accurate shot into the left corner (0-2). In the 20th minute, Holovach won a header after the right wing cross and scored her second goal, and few minutes after, the captain of the Orange and Blacks made an excellent shot into the upper V from the left corner of the penalty area scoring a hat-trick (0-4). During the time remaining before the break, Roman Zaiev’s side continued to completely dominate the game and create chances, but they did not score more in the first half.

However, the visitors went to their full extent already in the opening minutes of the second half: Liubov Mokhnach scored the fifth goal for the team from outside the penalty area, and in the 50th minute, Natalia Chendei, who has come on the field, performed a successful header after the right cross (0-6). Following that, Holovach shot outside the penalty area, the keeper saved, but Khrystyna Kozub slotted the ball home (0-7). In the 61st minute, Veherych made an excellent pass releasing Oleksandra Krevska one-on-one who confidently beat the keeper (0-8). Mokhnach burst herself into the penalty area at once and struck accurately into the bottom corner (0-9). Hammering of the opponents was completed by Krevska: in the 68th minute, Oleksandra headed home Mokhnach’s cross, and in the 74th minutes, she pushed the ball into the net from the box line after a corner-kick. 11-0 – Shakhtar claim their biggest win in the Vyshcha League at the moment.
The Orange-and-Black will host Veres in the next match of the Ukrainian Women’s Championship on November 19.
