Shakhtar youth team defeated Veres away

Shakhtar had some staff surprises for the match against Veres: Rosputko – Faryna pair played in the central defence and Yushchenko appeared in the midfield centre.

Minimum chances

Shakhtar possessed the ball more often and played in set attack and the opponents used more counter-attacks in the first half. However, disciplined and organized defence of the hosts made it impossible to perform threatening attacks with finishing. Veres had their first moment after pressing in the centre of the field and dash to Tvardovskyi’s goal by Zaiko (the goalkeeper performed confidently on the goal line). After that, Tvardovskyi saved after Shukh’s attempt getting the ball from the top corner. The Miners responded only with Buleza’s shot after Siheev’s pass – missed. Goalless draw at half-time.

Pohorilyi’s winning goal

During the next 45 minutes, Oskar Ratulutra put Pushkaryov at right-back; Veklenko played instead of him at left attacking wing; and Yanovych changed Yushchenko in a holding area. Shakhtar did score the first goal in the 60th minute after a continuous control over the ball: Losenko fed the ball to Pohorilyi from his half of the field and the forward made an accurate one-touch shot into the near top corner (Vladyslav’s 10th goal in the championship). Then the teammates brought Siheev through on target after a fast left-wing attack, but Kyrylo missed from the advantageous position.

Another win of the Miners in the championship thanks to Pohorilyi’s goal. The next match Shakhtar youth team will play on November 12 against Zorya Luhansk.
