Shakhtar head coach Igor Jovicevic commented on the victory over Veres in the 12th round of the championship
– Are you satisfied with the team’s game in the match vs Veres?
– When you win, there are more emotions. The result follows the game, we even deserved more than 2-0 because we owned the ball more often and completely dominated. The structure of the game after losing the ball was also good, we showed respect for Veres, so the match turned out to be serious. In terms of moments, the score could have been bigger. I say that these three points are very important for us in the race with Dnipro-1. From the point of view of psychology, it is important to maintain the tone of the winner, which pleases me as a coach.
– Did the air raid alert before the match affect the disposition of the players?
– Of course! We live under such conditions when we have to adapt to the political situation. The young men who fought in Donetsk came to our locker room. We are grateful to them for being able to play football in Ukraine. Without them, it would be impossible to do our job. Let me repeat: we thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine and all the people who fight for us.
– Today, Shakhtar created many moments but some of them were not implemented.
– You're right. It depends not only on creativity but also on how the football player makes decisions in a separate episode. I am more pleased with the way we create these moments, and the individual completion will come later. Each of the players can score but this is not to say that if someone in training works on the end, then he will be better at it in the match with Zorya. Everything happens individually but when there are moments, then according to the laws of mathematics they should bring the result. It is impossible to score all the moments. I see that Bondarenko is nervous because he has moments in every game, but he does not score, and Traore has not scored for a long time. Let me repeat: it's important to me that the team create the precondition for the last kick. Maybe in the first half sometimes we wanted to go into the goal with the ball, instead of passing, winning picks, kicking from distance at the second pace. Shots from afar is an antivirus against saturated defenses. We combined a lot and overcame the defense, but it was difficult because Veres are a strong team that defend well. It was very difficult but the result goes to our balance. We look forward with emotion to the next game with Zorya.
