Shakhtar players met with displaced children and their parents

On October 17, the Miners Mykhailo Mudryk and Heorhii Sudakov visited the Shakhtar’s Shelter Center at Arena Lviv. At the very arrival of the football players in Lviv, the air alarm was announced, so all the guests of the Center had to go to the underground shelter. It was there that the meeting took place.

Shakhtar's players discussed various topics with IDPs, including many children, learned about the living conditions at the Shelter Centre, conveyed words of support and wishes of peace from the whole team. The most discussed topic was football, of course. The Shelter residents congratulated the footballers and Shakhtar on the whole represented by them on yesterday's victory over Dynamo and wished them success in the upcoming games. At the end of the meeting, Mykhailo Mudryk and Heorhii Sudakov signed autographs and took photos with guests and staff of the Center.
I am delighted to see the sincere smiles of kids who are so happy about this meeting
Mykhailo Mudryk, Shakhtar player:

– It was so nice to meet with children and adults, chat and just be here next to them. I am delighted to see the sincere smiles of kids who are so happy about this meeting. I thanked all these people for their support and rooting for us. It really feels nice.
Great meeting. I see that the children are happy to see us, we raised their mood a little
Heorhii Sudakov, Shakhtar player:

– Great meeting. I see that the children are happy to see us, we raised their mood a little. We understand how difficult it is now for these children because of what they have to go through. It's a pity that we won't be able to attend their training session and play football because of the air alarm, but we signed a lot of autographs for them, took photos and I think it pleased the children. They also sang us a song with the words "Shakhtar is the champion!" Such warm emotions from the meeting.

As a reminder, Shakhtar's Shelter Centre was opened at Arena Lviv on April 9 this year, and since then it has received more than one thousand internal migrants from different regions of Ukraine. More than 200 people live here permanently.

It should be noted that about 3 billion hryvnias, i.e. 100 million dollars, have already been transferred by SCM, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and the FC Shakhtar businesses to help Ukraine and Ukrainians from February 24, 2022. In total, the assistance covered 13.5 million people.
