Shakhtar's youth team loses to Real Madrid in the third round of the UEFA Youth League, but remains in second place in the group
Playing number-two
From the first minutes, Real Madrid mostly owned the initiative and had more possession of a ball. After one of the counterattacks in the 30th minute, Madrid members managed to make a mark when Bravo broke through Tvardovskyi, and immediately Gonzalo doubled the score with a head kick. In the 39th minute, the referee awarded a penalty for Savchenko's foul, but Angel broke through above the target. At the end of the half, the Miners organized an effective attack and played one goal: Buleza broke through and fired a kick from the flank, and Naveros cut the ball into his own net – 2-1. However, the point in the first half was set by Fortuny, scoring the hosts' third goal in the 45th minute.
Debutants
After the break, Real Madrid continued to dominate and scored three times. Galacticos scored two goals in the first minutes of the second half: Gonzalo completed the feed from the flank with a head kick again, and Palacios kicked under the crossbar from a comfortable position. The midfielder then drew a double and set up the final score. Oskar Ratulutra fielded Smetana, Bashmarin, Tsukanov and Lomaha as replacements – the players made their debut in the UEFA Youth League, and Lomaha also played for the club for the first time.
