Shakhtar entertained Chornomorets on the Ukrainian Youth League MD4

The Miners gained 7 points in the championship opening matches and successfully started the Euroseason with win over RB Leipzig U19 (2-0) in the UEFA Youth League. Odesans also had no defeats getting similar 7 points after 3 rounds.

One goal at full domination

Oskar Ratulutra’s team started on top and scored already in the 8th minute: Artem Veklenko pierced the goalkeeper with one-touch shot after a right flank cross to the penalty area centre and made it 1-0. Also Veklenko had the chance to make a brace before the break: at first, Hlushchenko, and then Yanovich released the forward through excellent passes, but both time Artem lacked space to beat a goalkeeper. Khromey, Hlushchenko and Buleza had good chances, but no one managed to increase the score in the first half.

Endgame win

Oskar Ratulutra made 4 substitutions during the break fielding Savchenko, Pushkaryov, Losenko and Pohorilyi to play the second half. The latter two immediately organized a dangerous chance, but the goalkeeper saved the Odesans. After that, Pohorilyi got another opportunity: he won the one-no-one attack, but missed the near corner. Mykytyshyn had similar chance, but Shyryaev saved once again. Chornomorets players made a successful counter-attack in the 67th minute holding the Pitmen’s pressure: Tvardovskyi cleared the ball after the first shot from the opponent, but Oleksadnr Ratushniak scored an equalizer after a follow-up. The Miners organized a real assault of the rival goal at once quickly achieving the result. In 78th minute, Mykytyshyn outplayed the opponents on the left flank and rolled the ball to the penalty area line, and Mykhaylo Khromey volleyed accurately and put the hosts in the lead, 2-1. The Orange-and-Blacks hold the opponent’s attempts to come back during the time left and made the final score in the added minutes: Pushkaryov made the right cross to far edge of the penalty area, Mykytyshyn passed to his partner and Vladislav Pohorilyi netted a goal.

3-1 – Shakhtar U19 defeat Chornomorets U19 and remain in the leader group of the Ukrainian Youth League gaining 10 points.

Oskar Ratulutra’s team will play the next match on September 14. The Orange-and-Blacks will entertain Scottish Celtic U19 on the UEFA Youth League MD2.
