Shakhtar and Legia Foundation organized meeting of players with internally displaced children

On September 12, Shakhtar players Andriy Totovytskyi and Oleh Ocheretko visited the humanitarian centre organized by Legia Foundation charity organization for internally displaced children and their parents from Ukraine.

Ukrainian families, who were forced to leave their country and move to Poland, come here every day to make it possible for children to stud, to talk to each other, to participate together in various events and masterclasses. Kids can learn to draw, read and dance in the children’s centre, as well as to go for sport.

Shakhtar players visited the children’s training session, played football together with the kids, talked to their parents and took memorable photos before the UCL match vs Celtic. Such meetings are planned to be held regularly during the periods when Shakhtar are in Warsaw.
We will come on the field and do our best to please the fans
Andriy Totovytskyi, Shakhtar player:

– We are always glad to see children. Such events give only joy and positivity. I think that their parents also left with positive emotions from this meeting. This is important now during the war. We invite everyone to the stadium. This is a great responsibility for us, footballers, because many Ukrainians leave in Warsaw, and I am sure that the stands will support us. We promise that we will come on the field and do our best to please the fans. We have already demonstrated that we play not for ourselves, but for Ukraine through our game.

We remind that FC Shakhtar closely cooperates with Legia Warszawa and Legia Foundation. As it was previously mentioned, 5% of profit from selling of tickets for Shakhtar games at the Stadion Wojska Polskiego will be sent to Legia Foundation.
