Shakhtar midfielder Marian Shved answered reporters’ questions before the UCL match against Celtic
– Marian, you know the opponent well. What can you say about Celtic, what strong sides does this team have? And what will help Shakhtar to win?
– Good evening, everybody! I would not say that I know this team well. Because two years ago, when I played there, it was a totally different team comparing with current situation: only two players have left in the first team. So I don’t know much about them, but the coaching staff gave us information and I watched match compilations by myself, and I can admit that this is an excellent team with fast wings that will put pressure on us. But I think that we are ready for this. I hope that if we show our play, we will achieve a positive result.
– You have a good start of your performance for Shakhtar. Also you started well in Celtic being the first Ukrainian in the club’s history. What went wrong in this team and what memories do you have regarding that period?
– I remember my debut in Celtic. It was in the Champions League as well, but in qualification. When assessing my period in Celtic, if I could go back, I would make the same thing and move to this team. Yes, I did not manage to play there, but every coach has own vision and every coach choose the starting lineup by himself, so I cannot say anything.
