FC Shakhtar President Rinat Akhmetov celebrates his birthday on September 21
Ambitions and commitment of the president led Shakhtar to many significant victories and achievements: the club won 35 trophies including the UEFA Cup, 13 champion titles, 12 Ukrainian Cups, and 9 national Super Cups headed by Rinat Akhmetov during 26 years. The team constantly play in the Champions League and will represent Ukraine at the main stage of the most prestigious club tournament in current season for the seventeenth time.
But respect and love of millions of the fans supporting the club in Donetsk, Ukraine and the entire world have always been and will remain the true success indicators for Shakhtar.
The Miners are very much appreciated in the European football family as a club with the name and perfect reputation. This image is confirmed not only by the team’s performance on the football field, but by active social and humanitarian activity initiated by the president.
Today, Rinat Akhmetov’s main efforts are aimed at support of Ukraine and provision of aid to Ukrainians affected by war. Only from February 24, charity foundation, businesses of Rinat Akhmetov and FC Shakhtar have send UAH 3 billion for charitable purposes. The club’s president has repeatedly stated that he has an intention to support the country and Ukrainian people as long as necessary for victory of Ukraine.
Shakhtar family, footballers, coaches, management and staff sincerely congratulate Rinat Akhmetov and wish him, above all, soonest peace in Ukraine and Donbas, return to free Ukrainian Donetsk and at the beloved Donbass Arena where Shakhtar will play many unforgettable matches and win the most memorable victories!
