Shakhtar Donetsk defeat EMS-Podillia Vinnytsia in the championship round 4

Roman Zaiev made two substitutions after the match against Kryvbas: Ustinova and Chendei came on instead of Mostova and Manziuk. Both footballers made their first start and Liudmyla Ustinova made her debut for Shakhtar.

One-goal advantage

The teams spent the beginning of the match in challenges. Shakhtar converted the first dangerous chance near the opponents’ goal: Chendei finished Molodiuk’s powerful shot, but the goal was disallowed due to handball from Natalia. Then Shakhtar dominated on the field. Molodiuk was very active on the left attacking wing. It was Yelizaveta who performed a power play in the 31st minute along the field centre finishing near the post. Vinnytsia girls responded with frequent counter-attacks, but without any noticeable success near Ustinova’s goal. Zaiev’s team managed to convert their advantage and scored at the end of the half: Vykaliuk earned a spot-kick calmly converting it by herself.

Confident play

The match was interrupted due to air raid alert after the break. Resuming the game, Shakhtar doubled the score at once: active Molodiuk defeated several defenders of EMS-Podillia in the penalty area and made low-driven shot into the bottom corner. Having two-goal advantage, Zaiev’s side had a series of chances, but Mokhnach, Molodiuk and Chendei did not succeed to convert them with the score remaining unchanged.

Roman Zaiev’s team win a confident victory and will take a break in the women’s championship due to national team games. The next match will be at home on October 15 against Mariupol.
