Shakhtar defender Dmytro Chyhrynskyi shared his impressions of the UPL match against Oleksandriia (2-1)
– Dmytro, what are your thoughts on your first match after returning to Shakhtar?
– It is hard to say. I think the most important thing is that we won. It was not easy, but I focus only on the team's results, so the main outcome of the match is three points.
– It has almost been nine years since you left UPL. Did you feel what exactly changed in the championship today?
– There are changes, of course. First, let's be honest, due to the fact that Ukraine is in a state of war, the quality of football has decreased, a lot of players left the teams, and this applies to all clubs. But the young players got a chance and I would say that football has become more intense. It is not about today's game, but in general. Again, there is some lack in quality, but it is a matter of time. I think that this championship, compared to the previous one, will have a little higher level. This is the main difference, in my opinion.
– You mentioned that there are many young players in the team. Do you already feel like a leader?
– Oh no. The young players also motivate us well, because nowadays there is such football that you cannot really play relying only on experience. And in terms of physical requirements and intensity, I have no right to lag behind the youth. So, they push me, and maybe they take something from me. This is such a symbiosis, a two-way process.
