Shakhtar defender Viktor Korniienko will play on loan for Vorskla Poltava until the end of the 2023/24 season.
As a reminder, Korniienko was born in Poltava and he is a graduate of Shakhtar Academy. He has been playing for the first team of the Miners since 2020 and has played 30 matches so far, in which he scored 1 goal and provided 4 assists. 24-year-old defender skipped almost the entire previous season due to a serious injury and missed the start of the new championship due to a disciplinary suspension.
In the 2022/23 season, Vorskla were among the top five teams of the UPL. In the current Premier League campaign, Viktor Skrypnyk's lads won one victory in 3 matches, and also failed to pass the first qualification round of the UEFA Conference League, losing to Georgian Dila and leaving the tournament.
