Ukrainian children who grow up during the war socialise thanks to football
Shakhtar Social continues to implement the Unite For Peace program, which provides the opportunity to conduct free football training sessions for children aged 7 to 12, with the support of ECA and the UEFA Foundation for Children. The project, which started in October 2022, is aimed at uniting children and ensuring their socialisation through football. Currently, the sessions are held in 5 cities of Ukraine: Rivne, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernivtsi.
The Unite For Peace program is mainly intended for displaced children and children living in war conditions. That is why one of the stages is a session with a psychologist. The specialists work with children in groups according to a specially designed programme. Such training sessions are aimed at integration and socialisation of children through exercises to overcome stress factors, self-regulation of emotions and working with feelings and thoughts with the help of art therapy.
