Former Shakhtar player Facundo Ferreyra attended the training session of the team in Porto and gave interview to the club’s media
– Facundo, you were present at Shakhtar's pre-match training session. Why did you decide to visit your former team?
– I haven't seen the guys for many years. I am glad that I was able to come, there are a lot of emotions. I’m happy to be here!
– How was your meeting with old friends?
– I mostly talked with Piatov: he told me that he is a coach now. I also saw Mykola and Taras. I was very glad to meet everyone again.
– Do you follow Shakhtar now? If so, what can you say about the current team?
– Yes, I watch matches. I know about the victory against Barcelona, and now there will be the game for the Champions League play-offs. I'm happy to be able to attend this match.
– What can you say about the game? Who will win?
– Shakhtar! One hundred percent! The team must win and continue their Champions League campaign.
– Do you have special memories of your best goals?
– I think it's a goal in the match against Roma in the Champions League.
– Why this one?
– Because it was important and we won, I think, 2-1.
– You played for Shakhtar in 2014 and knew about the beginning of the war. How can you comment on the current situation?
– I remember reading about it in the newspaper two years ago. I was very upset, because I have many friends in Ukraine. I know that the situation is a little different now, I talked to the guys. I hope the war will end as soon as possible, so that people can return to their normal lives.
– What are your memories of Ukraine?
– It was a fantastic four years. I remember the people, the city, and the cold weather. I have only the best memories.
– What do you want to say to all our fans?
– I remember the Ukrainian fans, they are simply fantastic. I remember my appearances at the Donbas Arena. Maybe one day I will play there again. I wish Shakhtar to return to their home stadium as soon as possible.
– What can you say to Ukrainians?
– I know what the situation is right now. I remember that good people live there, it is a good country. I wish Ukrainians the very best.
