Shakhtar midfielder Heorhii Sudakov shared his emotions after winning the voting for the Player of the Year
– Heorhii, the fans chose you as Shakhtar Player of the Year 2023. What does this title mean to you?
– First of all, I want to thank the fans for their support! Also, I am grateful to my teammates – I would not have succeeded without them, this is the result of our joint hard work. Of course, it is nice to receive such awards: to become the player of the year playing in such a big club is a matter of pride for me.
– How did 2023 go for you personally in terms of your career?
– It seems that it was a very productive year: I played 52 matches at the official level, including the matches for the national team, there were many positive emotions. I think our team achieved a good result this year.
– Which matches, goals or other moments were most memorable?
– The most memorable ones are the match of Ukraine U21 against France, the victory over Barcelona in the Champions League with Shakhtar and, probably, advancing to the Europa League Round of 16 after the victory over Rennes.
– What tasks do you set for yourself for next year of 2024? What would you like to achieve with the team and individually?
– Shakhtar’s goals are always the same – to win the league, to win the Ukrainian Cup and to advance as far as possible in the Europa League. As for me, the primary goal is to help my team achieve positive results in every match.
– What do you wish to Shakhtar fans and all Ukrainians in the new year?
– Of course, I wish peace, family well-being and a happy year to everyone.
