Head coach of Veres Serhii Lavrynenko commented on the match against Shakhtar
– We understand that Shakhtar are the current champions of Ukraine. It is very difficult for us to play against such opponents, but we tried to put up a fight. Perhaps, if we had not conceded after deflection and played more cautiously in the first half, the team would have looked more aggressive in the second half. Overall, the level of the opponents turned out to be higher, and the goal scored by Zubkov was difficult and very good. Shakhtar are a good Champions League level team, so I am not ashamed of the guys.
– Do you plan to strengthen the team? If you do, what positions?
– We do, but not everything is so simple. Currently there is a very big competition for players among the clubs, and the lack of them is significant. Our budget is not as big as that of other teams, but we want to strengthen the forward and full-backs positions. Now the intensity of the championship has increased, we lack speed and players who will come on as substitutes and strengthen the game.
