Shakhtar youth team claimed a victory over Lviv in a dramatic match
Oscar Ratulutra made several substitutions in the game against the Lviv side compared to the last match: Oharkov, Losenko, Yushchenko and Hlushchenko appeared in the starting eleven.
Bossing without goals
The Miners looked more threatening in the beginning of the match, creating few dangerous chances. First, Hlushchenko made unsuccessful attempt from a free kick and then Pohorilyi failed to complete the counter-attack developed by Drozd on the right wing. Then the hosts were able to level the game and carry out some set pieces, but Tvardovskyi played flawlessly off the line. However, in the 32nd minute, Shakhtar lost the best opportunity of the first half when Pohorilyi shot twice after a corner: the striker hit the crossbar at first and Olkhovyi saved Lviv during finishing.
Victory in the last minutes
After the break, Shakhtar played even more actively and remained in the majority, forcing Panchyshyn to earn a second yellow card under pressure. The Miners took control over the game with a numerical advantage, while the hosts obviously played to save the score, occasionally organizing counter-attacks. Ratulutra's lads mostly played through the left flank, but Bako did not score at first (not having time to finish the cross into an empty net) and then Drozd's shot was blocked by the Blue-and-Golds’ defenders after Hlushchenko's passes. In the added time, Shakhtar finally put away the opponents – Hlushchenko got his bearings after the ball rebound in rival penalty area and scored the winning goal.
Oskar Ratulutra’s side claimed a win in the second match in a row and Anton Hlushchenko extended his scoring streak. The next match of Shakhtar youth team will be played away on March 4 against Metalist 1925 Kharkiv.
