Today, January 13, presentation of Shakhtar newcomer Giorgi Gocholeishvili took place in Turkey. We remind that the 21-year-old footballer joined the Donetsk club this January, signing the 5-year contract.
FC Shakhtar Director of Football Darijo Srna gave the Georgian defender the personalized jersey bearing the number 13 and wished him success in the new team.

– We have been searching for a right-back player for the last six months after losing Dodo and Vinicius Tobias. Finally, we found a player with a very great talent who played in Georgia. He fits well with our football, our play system, he likes to attack – that is what we need. We liked the way Giorgi showed himself during these first training sessions and we are waiting for him to grow every day ensuring benefits for Shakhtar.
Regarding his qualities, we saw speed, endurance and good finishing pass at once. It is very important today to find such footballers complying with the requirements of Shakhtar because we are a specific team with specific football. We picked Gocholeishvili and, I think, we were right. He will work, make efforts and get his chance. We have an excellent team, so it will be easy to adapt in Shakhtar for every young footballer. We have rational lads, our hearts are open, that’s why he will get used to it quickly becoming useful to the club.
